Lady Midnight Review with SPOILERS
Me Before: Where the hell can I get a copy???!?!!??!! NO SPOILERS!!!!!!!
Me Now: OH MY GOD EVERYONE GO GET YOURSELF ONE NOW THIS IS NOT A DRILL GO GO GO!!!
It feels like it had been ages since we've had another Shadowhunter book, so when this one came out, my first reaction was "*sigh* finally". And it took me awhile to reorganize who was who and how old they were. Obviously, I knew the main players in the game, but their siblings were a bit tangled up for awhile. And then it all got really good really fast. Do you need to have read the other books before this one? No..... but I would highly recommend it.
PLOT: Cassandra Clare jumps right into the story. You don't need to wait for anything. BAM, something happens. Five pages later, BAM, something else happens. It moves fast, but not in a way that leaves you confused.
CHARACTERS: I LOVED theses characters. From the oldest to the youngest, I was able to form an attachment to each of them, and they were all really well developed. The acted like a family, a legitimate family with stupid issues like "Tavvy wants to eat sugar for breakfast". Full run down later.
WRITING: This isn't a book I would necessarily recommend to smaller humans, for both comprehension and thematic reasons, but other than that I think anyone could read it- high school, college, retired, anybody. It flows nicely without many plot gaps. I actually think there may have only been one or two, but they're also things that may just be resolved later in the series. Her actual writing is not simple, but not too complex either where it becomes annoying to read. And like I said above, it MOVES. You will definitely not be bored reading this.
SPOILERS AHEAD
Time for the fun stuff >:)
PLOT: I had no idea what the plot would be going into this. I actually had no clue what it would be because we have had the Infernal Devices and the Dark War, but being a juvenile little bean, I thought, "Nothing could be worse than those...". **Slaps self over the head** It starts with just murders. People are dying and there is a clear pattern in the manner of their deaths, but not why they were killed. As it progressed, it just got creepier and cult-ier. Eulgh. Then we find out they are messing with necromancy. ME: Aw, ****. I should have known this could get so much worse than the others. Sebastien is still the worst in my opinion, but this series also hasn't fully played out yet. It could still top the cake. So we have MALCOLM trying to RESURRECT his dead love Annabel BLACKTHORN. Oh, time out. When the kids and co. find out that Blackthorn blood is needed and there have already been 13 murders, WHY THEY HELL DID THEY NOT KEEP EVERYONE INSIDE. Really Julian, where is your head? You're just gonna let your two YOUNGEST siblings out to the beach, alone, when you know Blackthorn blood is needed. Stupid. Ok, back to Annabel. I am really curious to see where this goes, because at the end of the book, she wakes up. But she's also underwater. In a tomb. Won't she just die again? There's nobody to save her unless Malcolm didn't die, which may very well happen. Is she just immortal now? That'd be unfortunate.
CHARACTERS:
Malcolm: I liked him at first! I really did! And then HE TOOK TAVVY! WHAT THE ACTUAL BUTT!
Diana: I never really trusted her, simply for the fact that she doesn't live at the Institute. Now, on top of it, did she do some illegal stuff in her past?? What? I want to know!
Kieran: Mixed feelings. I ship him and Mark. And I feel kinda bad for him, because now he's all alone in the Hunt. He didn't know about the lashes...
Mark: Amazing development. Favorite moments: when he's taking care of the kids, wearing two shirts, and at the end.... I DON'T SHIP THEM, but "Why lie?" Props to you Mark, props to you...
Diego: I still don't really know how I feel about Diego yet, because I feel like we still don't really know him.
Cristina: Love this girl. She's such a good anchor for Emma.
Julian: He is one of my favorites, but he also concerns me a little. He had no childhood pretty much, so all of that development was skipped. He became an adult at 12. That isn't really healthy...
Emma: HER SASS. She honestly reminds my of a Herondale. It's amazing.
Liv and Ty: THEY NEED TO BECOME PARABATAI!!
Drusilla: I don't really have an opinion on her.... :/
Tavvy: MY BABY!!! I want him as my brother.
Kit: When we find out he's a Herondale..... I died. My brain literally stopped functioning, and then all I could think was, HERONDALE HERONDALE WE HAVE ANOTHER ONE THERE'S ANOTHER ONE OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD WE HAVE ANOTHER ONE!!!!!! Because how can we have a Shadowhunter book without a Herondale?
I really loved all the cameos and references too in this book. They made me smile. :) BUT WHY THE HELL WAS CLARY DREADING GIVING JACE HER ANSWER? I DEMAND TO KNOW WHY!

Review: Passenger
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Passenger was so refreshing. It was a really well-done and exciting story that broke up the usual things that are in books right now. The world of time travelers that she created was unique and orderly. By that I mean that there are actual boundaries that create conflict for the characters and they can't do anything about that. There weren't any big loopholes or gaping wounds in the plot. The characters were really personable, which I greatly appreciated, and their responses were all very realistic and accurate (?) for their eras.
I also love the ship for this book :) They are literally perfect for each other and I am such a supporter.
That being said, the story doesn't overdo the romance. It focuses on the the story line and explains things really well when it gets a little confusing. And the ending was BEAUTIFUL. There is no way that you can stop reading this or get bored from it. Thanks for reading!

The Power Review ***SPOILERS***
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
REALLY GOOD!!! Jennifer L Armentrout is as amazing as usual with this book. The characters are witty and funny, and the relationships they have with each other are both realistic and tangible. The continuation of the plot line from book one is smooth and clear. I enjoyed how there wasn't really much of a recap in the beginning too; she pretty much just jumped right into the story. The only little thing (which I'm not really complaining about) is that I found myself caring more about the romance in the story than I was the adventure-y, mythical plot and I'm not sure if I was supposed to. Jennifer writes amazing characters, some of the best that I have ever read, and the humor that lies in her books makes me laugh out loud and receive weird looks from strangers. :)
When the story opened with Seth and Josie... I immediately switched into full-out fangirl mode- squealing and all. I love those two. I could kind of see what was going to happen though with the Seth's "I can't be with you because I am pretty much a drug addict". It was bound to happen. It still KILLED me though when it happened. Especially when he DIDN'T TELL HER WHY. There are times when characters make stupid decisions. To Seth- YOU IDIOT. You don't just completely leave a girl with no reason, after that make-out session, and not tell her that it's because of your own personal issues! She is going to turn it around on herself!! And what does Josie do? She thinks she did something wrong. ***anger***
When shit is getting real in the yard (?) between the halves and the pures, and then a door came out of nowhere, I was like 'God?', 'more shit?', 'underworld?'. AND THEN ALEX AND AIDEN WALK THROUGH AND I WAS DYING INTERNALLY!!!!! I love how, when they walk through, it's like there's nothing going on around them. Alex flips someone over at one point, but it's casually done so, and then Deacon comes over and their all hugging each other and having a moment while people are full out fighting around them. Love it. I also really loved how they didn't act like they were on a visit or a vacation. They got involved, helped form a game plan, and got to work. I love these two :)
I can't wait to read the next one in the series. I want to know what happens to Seth and Josie, I can't wait for them to go to other countries, and I am really interested to meet the other demigods, because so far, they are quite interesting characters.
Thanks for reading!

Review: The Distance Between Us
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
The Distance Between Us is a very cute story about a rich boy and a poor girl finding their way through a relationship while also trying to figure out their individual lives. I thought how they did this was super cute and really fun too. When there were different obstacles thrown their way, they were always able to bounce back from it. I really appreciated how it wasn't just "oh you're sorry ok I'm fine then" and they actually talked through things; especially at the end. Also, Cayman's sass was unbelievable. It was really funny and I loved her character even though there were times when I wanted to smack her upside the head with one of her dolls.
This book was good and I enjoyed reading it, but I didn't feel like there were many WOW factors. The characters were nice, some seemed a bit odd, but that's ok because I know odd people.... I am a pretty odd person now that I think about it. There were also a few moments where I was just like, "What the heck? Do they not meet like a month or so ago....?" Maybe I'm missing something, but it just seemed like the relationship moved very fast. And lastly, I don't want to say that it was too nice of an ending, but there were a few things that didn't seem to add up. (view spoiler)[ Her grandparents weren't there for any of the seventeen years of her life, and she give them a random call and suddenly they're all going to make it work? I feel like there needed to have been a longer conversation between the characters about this elephant in the room. There might have been, but the readers need to see it. (hide spoiler)]
This is a good book to pick up for a quick read and to just have fun. :)
